Neshama — the Hebrew word for God’s breath — refers to the Jewish concept of spirit or soul. The foundation of my faith is that we return from whence we came and our spirit lives on—the soul is immortal. I believe that spirit and soul resonate in all art forms, and the essence of my being will live on in the art I leave behind.
In NATURE are traces of soul, where I find inspiration and the immortality embodied in spirit. VESSELS also provide a powerful symbol of soul: a private space holding hopes, ideas and experiences important to me. Within that space is a portal, an opening through which the spirit can travel and transcend — a WINDOW where I glimpse the soul and find freedom.
These personal symbols are the palette for my outward expression of soul.
