Lori Dresner

Lori Dresner’s journey with clay began at just nine years old—an instant connection that has shaped her life ever since. What began as childhood curiosity grew into a lifelong passion, leading her to earn a BFA in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design, an MA in Ceramics from the University of Michigan, and an MFA in Video Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While in Chicago, she became an active member of the city’s pioneering video art community, curating and participating in exhibitions, including curating the first Video Art Exhibition at Navy Pier in 1980.

Her creative path then shifted into video production and international advertising, a career that took her from New York to Paris, where she lived and worked for over two decades. In 2008, Lori returned to the U.S. and settled in Aspen, Colorado, where she fully reembraced her first love: ceramics. She quickly connected with Anderson Ranch Arts Center and the Carbondale Clay Center and has been deeply engaged with the Roaring Fork Valley’s vibrant clay community ever since.

Lori’s art reflects her lifelong curiosity, global experiences, and a desire to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Her ceramics have been exhibited at The Aspen Chapel Gallery, The Red Brick Center for the Arts, the Aspen Art Museum, and Denver galleries including D’Art, Core, and Niza Knoll, as well as at Blue Line Arts in California and The Meyers Gallery in Santa Ana.

Today, Lori works out of her Aspen studio and gallery, LD Ceramix, where she continues to explore, create, and share her passion. She lives in the Roaring Fork Valley with her husband Pete and their two lively pups, Boshi and Tia.
